This paper will cover some digitisation initiatives taken by local archives offices in the UK. In particular, it will discuss the involvement of Canterbury Cathedral Archives in the DocExplore project, and the benefits which such projects can offer for the services which the archives delivers. It will also discuss other projects at the Cathedral Archives, including its work with a commercial digitisation partner.
